A Grand Opening celebration in September, 2009 was emceeded by former Selectman Paul Solomon and attended by several hundred locals who toured the building and grounds. Building Tours

Guided Tours are offered on the first Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm.

No longer will Belmont be the only community in the Commonwealth with a senior population of over 500 that does not have a permanent Senior Center.

- Paul Solomon
former Selectman

Belmont finally has a permanent senior center. For over 30 years, this has been a dream of our seniors and members of the Council On Aging.

Board Member, Belmont Council On Aging

A Green Building

Beech Street Center is the first building in Belmont certified as environmentally friendly under the nationally recognized Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. No coal, gas, or oil is used for heating or cooling. Recycled tires were used in making the floor of the Exercise Room. The parking lot includes designated parking spots for compact cars, car pools, and hybrids. Recycle bins are available, and we encourage their use.

A Community Center

The Belmont Council on Aging (BCOA) encourages adults of all ages to attend activities and events at the new Beech Street Center. That's why we have no age restriction. Inter-generational activities are healthy for the whole community spirit. Additionally, attending music concerts and other events open to the general public provides great entertainment as well as an additional way to help support senior center activities at the Beech Street Center. Come join us!
